September 2015, we were awarded a 50-year contract to own, operate,
renew, and replace the water and wastewater systems serving
Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The systems serve over
800 facilities over 99,000 acres. The water system includes four
wells, five pumping stations, 15 tanks, and over 750,000 linear
feet of distribution pipe. The wastewater collection system
consists of 15 sewer lift stations, over 650 manholes, and nearly
200,000 linear feet of sewer main.Salary Range: $98,800 -
$165,100The base salary range represents a good faith salary range
for this position. This position is eligible for annual incentive
pay and has the opportunity for continued salary growth. If you are
hired at American Water, your base salary compensation will be
determined based on factors such as market, geography, skills,

professionally!Primary RoleThe General Manager of Operations is
primarily responsible for the delivery of all operations and
maintenance activities required under the service agreement
contract. Duties include planning, organizing and directing
activities with respect to the respective contract operations,
including water/wastewater treatment facilities,
distribution/collection systems and pump/lift stations, etc. as may
be required by contract. This position is responsible for fostering
cooperation between operations, capital planning, the Government,
