TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a
qualified PICU RN in Bakersfield, California, 93301 About The
Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Pediatric
Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour
night shifts, every other weekend, first to float Guaranteed Hours:
36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 3 years--- experience
License: Required to submit Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have:
CERNER Experience Required - NO FIRST-TIME TRAVELERS Job
Description: - Average census of 2 patients in an 8-bed PICU unit -
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 - No nurse aides available - Required
weekend shifts every other weekend - Must work 2 out of 3 holidays
- Required to wear navy blue scrubs - Nurses will read their own
strips on Spacelab tele monitors - Ventilator management required -
24/7 in-house Pediatric Hospitalist Intensivist support - 24/7
Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support - Potential for on-call
shifts if census is low - Required to float to general pediatrics
and burn units - Floor-specific orientation includes 2 shifts in
PICU, 1 in pediatrics, and 1 in burn (for pediatrics) - Common
patient diagnoses include respiratory failure, dehydration,
seizures, suicide attempts, overdoses, and poisoning - Must have a
minimum of 2 years of PICU experience - Use of Medfusion pumps
required - Charting system: Cerner - Hospital may cancel shifts up
to 3 times per contract Additional Notes: - You will rarely serve
as a charge nurse - Start your shift at either 7 a.m. or 7 p.m.
