The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery) Job
Specialty: Labor and Delivery (L&D) Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-Hour Nights, Every Other Weekend, First to Float
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years
License: Required Certifications: ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring,
BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Proficiency in Cerner EMR system -
Willingness to work holidays and weekends - Ability to start own
IVs Job Description: - Support labor and delivery processes in a
unit with 18 LDRP rooms, 6 triage spaces, and additional overflow
and surgical spaces. - Adhere to safe patient ratios following
state guidelines. - Assist with deliveries, including providing NRP
support during births. - Use Cerner for EMR management and ensure
infant security with HUGS system. - Facilitate in a
multidisciplinary environment with OB technicians and in-house 24/7
OB and anesthesia coverage. - Work across various areas, such as
L&D, postpartum, C-section, and women's health. - Participate
in unit-specific orientation, including online GNOSIS training and
sessions with perinatology safety specialists. - Engage in
initiatives focusing on evidence-based practices, such as maternal
mental health screenings and reducing low-risk primary C-sections.
- Operate in a baby-friendly hospital environment encouraging
immediate skin-to-skin contact and early breastfeeding initiation.
- Collaborate effectively in managing approximately 250 births per
month and assisting in high-risk deliveries. - Participate in
continuous quality improvement through chart audits and perinatal
safety initiatives. - Maintain a professional appearance, wearing
navy scrubs provided by the unit. Note: Hospital may cancel up to 3
